xZorro and Aromatic
So, after 4 rejections my first iPhone game, xZorro (originally xBill) is now in the Apple’s App Store (*). It was a long journey - almost 2 months after first submission and I have just finished my second app (not a game) - its name is Aromatic. For this I worked with one renowned (in its field) company and what came out is… a cool app with great potential.
Aromatic was submitted...

It's 2009
My german provider, domainbox on friday updated its servers, since that my website and email were offline for 3 days. Why for so long? Well, because
their live support (chat) is offline
phone support (14c/min) is always busy
they are working mo-fr, 9:00-6:00
I mean… it’s 2009 and I’m paying 120eu/year. How can provider take the liberty of it?

Got call from Apple
Yes, this is start of a trend. Today I got a call from Apple regarding xBill. After short explanation it was… the name. The nice person on the phone assured me that this is the last reason they can’t approve it (someone still can link “Bill” to Bill G.).
Actually, it was a joke as I said I’m thinking about renaming the game to xZorro. But now it isn’t anymore....

Steve Jobs’ Return is Still Vaporware →
Apple is once again up to its media manipulation tactics, or so I allege. […] The timing, on day of iPhone 3GS launch, helps protect Apple’s share price and deemphasize an important fact: Steve isn’t really coming back this month.

This is 100% true. The point is, Apple doesn’t want to look like a software company, e.g. as Microsoft. Although they are.

4th Submission
This is the 4th submission of xBill to the AppStore. I still don’t know what was the “objectionable content” in last version, so I decided to remove 2 things: red blood and demo finger on screenshots.
Yes, it may sound funny, but for me it isn’t anymore. And since I really don’t know what Apple wants (of course they didn’t reply me), these are the only...

One more hidden sensor in the new iPhone
Now, after several days after keynote I think of one small feature of the new iPhone - autofocus. Autofocus in any camera device means the ability to measure distance to an object. I wonder if Apple will enable this kind functionality in the SDK… That would give enormous possibilities to new apps. Just think of augmented reality.
Update here.

My Rejection Story
So yesterday I got one more rejection from APPL. Reason? I don’t know, really.
So, here’s the whole story. My game is the iPhone version of the classic game XBill. It’s an arcade style game and it was very popular at the end of the ’90s, featuring a bespectacled character known as “Bill”. Your goal is to prevent Bill’s legions of clones from installing “Wingdows”, a virus “cleverly...
